How to Train Your Dragon Birthday Party!

Vikings are sturdy folk and can endure just about anything, including a raid of ambushing fire-breathing dragons. But even a viking hasn't had to wrangle a pack of six year old boys hyped up on cake and candy. And let me tell you, it isn't exactly a walk in the meadow with Toothless.

Kael's How to Train Your Dragon" party was a blast! Here's how it went:
Before all his friends arrived Kael was ready for action! We gave him a viking tattoo on his right check and a two-headed dragon painted on his left cheek.

When his friends arrived and everyone was properly face painted, we played a rousing good game of "Pin the Kael on the Dragon".

After the game we had a pizza feast. I have to tell you, six year old viking boys do not eat nearly as much pizza as I would have guessed. Maybe they were too excited for....

...the Dragon egg hunt!!! Brian was in charge of that game and guess how many pictures he got of it?
Z-E-R-O. :-(

Oh, well.

After that, the boys sang happy bday and decorated cupcakes. I learned a surprising number of mini m&m's can fit on one cupcake. However, that doesn't necessarily make the cupcake taste better as very few cupcakes were actually consumed. It must be way more fun to decorate than to eat.

Love those blue teeth!

After cupcakes we played a Hot Potato-type game with the presents. They passed them around in a circle the present Kael was holding when the music stopped is the present he opened. Too fun!
Kael received lots of fun presents this year.

Next we went outside for an awesome silly string battle. It was a RIOT!!

Kael had such a good time at his party today. Thanks to all his wonderful friends who came to play with him.

  1. You guys are so much fun! Lucky Kael. Glad he had a great Birthday. And why wouldn't 6 yr old boys want to eat all their cupcakes, that's just silly!
